Client gave me a bunch of Word files (book chapters). First chapter had a footnote that wasn't "footnoted" (dunno the offical term) in Word, so it ended up at the end of the file when I placed it. I formatted and placed it manually on the appropriate page in its own shallow box. No big deal.
Eight chapters later, there's another footnote, but this one WAS footnoted in Word, so when I placed that file, the footnote created/formatted itself at the bottom of the appropriate page. I like this. How do I make it happen with the footnote in Chapter 1, and any other stray footnotes I find?
And where do I find the formatting for the footnote box (in case I need to change the rule above, or something)?
Or is all this something the Word file dragged in that can't be changed or done in ID?
TIA,
Marlene
