The logic board on my MacBook Pro died yesterday, €1000 for repair, €1149 for new basic model, guess what we did. I transferred from my Time Machine backup to the new machine, fretting that it was Friday evening and I would probably have to wait till Monday to talk with Adobe and be able to use CS4 again. But no, ID works and I suppose the other programs in the suite do too. This is terrific, but I'm wondering: I assume the permission was somehow copied from the backup, but if so what would stop someone from similarly getting usable copies of Adobe programs from Time Machine backups generally?
Thanks,
Roy
