I thought I had the book I'm doing nailed last night,
but right when I was finishing I noticed footnote numbering
restarting in the middle of several chapters. As far as I
can tell, this was caused by reassignment of master pages
in the course of pagination. In any event it apparently
has to do with the pages rather than the text, because
when I copy the text to a fresh doc the footnotes of the
whole book go in a single numbering sequence from start
to end. Also, when I was fudging with this last night I
could correct the problem in a couple of instances by
deleting/adding pages and reflowing the text.

If anyone else remembers having experienced this problem
and/or knows how to correct it, I would appreciate a tip,
thanks.
