This may have been covered here before and if so I apologize, but maybe someone else could use being reminded or informed also.
I have a 24-page booklet with a dozen color graphics, mostly photos. A PDF with the color graphics will be put up on the web, but aside from the cover it will be printed black and white. What I've done in past years is create grayscale versions with the same names, create a folder for these and one for the color ones, and link to the grayscale ones for the print version and to the color ones for the web version.
I can do this again, but I'm just wondering if it's worth it since I can convert color to grayscale in Acrobat. My question is, does doing it this way generally give me about the same quality as if I converted the graphics to grayscale in Photoshop?
I tend to assume it does if I don't tweak the levels or curves. So I suppose my question is also whether such tweaking is generally necessary when converting color to grayscale in Photoshop.
Thanks,
Roy
