I have an interesting book typesetting project in the shop right now, full of Hindu deities and other Sanskrit terms set in English with diacritics. Certain long passages are in italics, and there's a real problem of missing diacritics in the italics of the Times (which the publisher is insisting on, horribly enough) faces I have immediately available. There's less of an issue with the roman, but only Times New Roman seems to have close to the full set required.
Does anyone on the list know of an OpenType version of Times (or any transitional or old style face, for that matter) that has the full set of Indic/Sanskrit diacritics in both the roman and italic? I've found several sans serifs, but I doubt I can convince the publisher to accept so radical a change of style.
