I have a client who's considering switching to InDesign from Quark. Right now, he's got multiple Quark licenses installed on a network of Macs for editors to be able to review their text right in the final layout document. I believe the same can be achieved with InCopy. Meaning, the editors won't need InDesign on their stations as InCopy is capable of displaying an InDesign document just as well as InDesign can. But what about fonts: will the editors also need to have the same fonts installed and opened on their station in order to view the text correctly?
This is the way they have to do this presently with Quark, and that's a pain in the neck for these people as every new issue of the magazines they produce uses different fonts for headlines and what not. So the editors have to get a copy of the new fonts, install them onto their station, in order to correctly view the new issues.
I don't see how InCopy can work around that issue but I confess my ignorance when it comes to InCopy's capabilities.
