What's with my ID? It's been getting a lot of hang-ups lately. It's driving me nuts. I'm becoming an egomaniac, ifyouknowwhutImean.

ID hardly ever just plain crashes. It's stable like that. But it goes into Beach Ball Spinout way way too often.

Right now, I'm working on a 160-page book. In several chapters, including this one, there are a lot of images, most of them inline or anchored objects (some still out on the pasteboard waiting for a dance partner).

I"m trying to send off the PDFs by noon (ain't gonna happen!) or maybe 1:00 Eastern. I'm on the last chapter (actually, 14 out of 15, because it has a lot of graphics and I wanted to get to wrap up the others before I finished this one). So, natcherly, coming out of the last turn with mere yards to go, ID goes all beach ball on me. GRRRRRR. I had placed an image as an inline graphic and was resizing it when ID walked off the job.

I'm caught on the horns of a dilemma: I can Force Quit and lose some of my recent changes, or I can wait to see if ID regains control of itself, but that might take hours and I'll miss the deadline.

Right now, I'm venting, but I still want to know what are the likely culprits that cause ID to hang up?
