I'm trying to automate saving off the document's swatches (after renaming the swatches that keep the same names but change appearance with each catalog cycle to include the catalog ID as part of the swatch name). There's a method called application.SaveSwatches(filename.ase, SwatchList). Having a hard time coming up with something for the swatch list that will actually work. Most of my attempts wouldn't work at all. Using "myDoc.Swatches.ItemByID(1, 15) worked OK inasmuch as it didn't blow up and an ASE file was saved. But when I load that ASE file into a new document, it contains just 3 swatches and they are the generic process color swatches ("C=0 M=100 Y=0 K=0" etc.) ID tends to create by default. None of these swatches was in the original document, nor did it save any of the swatches that actually were. Has anybody had any experience using this method in scripts?
