If's time to revise our church's annual fund-raising brochure. Included is generating 2 new pie charts showing financial info.
No one on the PR committee has skills in this area. (Last year the chair built them slowly in Illy and would hope to avoid a repeat of that.)
I would have thought that Excel could generate a workable chart, which then could be somewhat enhanced in Photoshop or Illy (and used in the InDesign file). No one is warm toward trying Excel. (I'm to be the one to revise the brochure but not generate the pie charts.) NeoOffice has been mentioned, and I'd expect that to likely work - but again no one has experience. The charts will run fairly small, so if they could be made on an online cloud somewhere fairly big, then even screen res would be fine.
At MacUpdate, I searched pie charts and Visifire was one of the hits. Their Gallery shows usable pie charts, but it's unclear if the download is a working trial or less. And the cost is so high that none of use would want to buy. Plus, those Visifire charts are animated and our paper brochure will have none of that.
I've suggested we recruit a financial person in church membership who can do pie charts in their sleep but haven't heard any reaction to that idea.
Any other suggestions?
