Thanks, that's the sort of info I'm looking for.
It's very easy to set to "non-Dell" toner cartrige; the Dell 3110cn has a web interface, and you just go to settings, printer maintenance, and you will see where to enable it.
I'll do that now, and hope that I'll get a few thousand more pages (that's another year, very low volume).
