The PlaceMultipagePDF sample script included with InDesign works well, but I'm having trouble getting the PDF I want to import resized so that it fills the pages at the right size, 148.5 x 210 mm - or A5, which oddly doesn't seem to appear as one of the many standard options in the Acrobat Crop Pages dialog. The file I have is 134.62 x 210.83 mm, and what I want to do seems normal and expectable enough: lop the .83 mm off the top and add 13.88 / 2 = 6.94 mm to both sides. Crop Pages will crop the .83 mm off the top okay, but I can't get it to widen on both sides to 148.5. For one thing, Acrobat provides a Center option and I want that, but it's difficult to change the X and Y offsets, and even when I succeed with that I get a "Page size may not be reduced" alert, even though I'm not reducing the page size but leaving it at 210.83 with the crop at the top.
Something seems squirrely with the Crop Pages function. Does anyone know how to resize the PDF to 148.5 by 210? If not I'll work out a script to center the imported PDF pages, which won't be a bad exercise. I'll send the PDF to anyone who's interested in looking at it.
Thanks,
Roy
