Separate the employed from the obsolete...
I am hoping InDesign & helper tools can provide something like Package that is broader, and not so fussy.
I do ads that get updated every year or two. I open the folder for the ad client and there may be 50 things in the folder. 10 or so of which I need going forward.
There are only 3 or 4 "core" InDesign files. I used to think that I could open them and Package them into a new folder - and move on. But that does not work well. Part of the problem is that I haven't learned to train Package not to gather fonts and other stuff not needed.
All I need are the ID file and the linked files.
But another part is that I used ID CS2 with a couple extensions not needed or not available in CS4. ID lets me go through the Package process until the end when it refuses to Package because the extensions are not present. It wants them installed and they can't be installed.
Is there a convenient way to gather these few InDesign files and all the linked files together in a new folder?
TIA... Chuck M
