I'm asking the following mostly out of curiosity. There was a discussion here on Times vs. Times New Roman, as I recall, and I think my conclusion at the time was that although several people mentioned differences, they seemed minor and the choice was basically a tossup. I recently noticed, however, that something in Times looked decent on-screen, which surprised me, and then today I noticed that my on-screen Times looked particularly distinctive on an InDesign page:
Without printing these out to confirm, I suppose that they'd look pretty much the same and that the big difference is only in the screen representation. Has anyone else noticed this? Comments? For me it's reason enough to prefer Times over TNR. They may look boringly the same in print, but at least I get something nicer on-screen.
Thanks,
Roy
